Let's assume - just for grins, that you think Operating Systems is a
unique, challenging and stimulating area for study. (Like I might have
- several 10s of years ago.)... - what are the subject-areas you might
study, further, if you desire to 'know more' about what is 'behind' the
operating system and how it works...
the scheduler - how an operating system decides what / which 'task' to
work on next, and how long to spend doing it
the arbitrator - how an operating system decides what to do if two
things demand the OS's attention at the same moment
the file system - storage mechanism (and why 'their' file system is
better than anyone else's
