Computer Security Page
Introduction:
Computer Security is a huge-topic - so big - in fact
that there is - probably at least 5-10 aspects of computer security for every
subject within the Computer subject-matter-realm. That makes a LOT of
potential areas for:
- Risks
and their Analysis
- break-ins
(they are already happening - you probably just don't know about it)
- Financial
analysis of both risks & break-ins
- Opportunities
to mitigate risks with this three-pronged-approach:
- People (policies written by people, and people
educated about those policies and their enforcement)
- Technology additions to re-inforce, backup,
and document failures to comply with policy
- Discipline & follow-up of policy-failure-issues, re-documentation,
re-training, follow-up awareness
There are a number of ways, methods, means, templates, tools, tips, tricks
that one can use in all of these areas to help the business. However
- there is / are, also, a number of mis-conceptions & problems faced by
most business-owners. Many of these issues can be corrected by reading
my "Security_101 " paper / web-page. This
will outline to you some of the basics, and will also take you through some
basic vocabulary to help you learn the right way to talk about (and listen-to)
others discuss computer and information security.
