Computing - Key Concepts


Introduction:

There are seveal items that need to be understood - for computng purchases, uses, training & applications to work together seamlessly to solve a business problem or provide a home-user with a trouble-free, economic solution to their needs...

1.) what is / was the computer designed for?

in many / most cases, even, the 'average' computer is more than adequate for 90% of the average user-needs which amount to, moslty:

None of these tasks requires a huge amount of CPU power or memory - but the e-mail and the web-surfing will always be 'enhanced' by having a 'faster' network connection.

Here's where there is a significant 'gap' between home users and business users. Most home-users are using dial-up connectivity - and that is always "slow" compared to a 'real' connection (Office, or xDSL or cable-modem at home)
